Wednesday 1/27/10 James Chapter 2

Last night there was a weird thing that happened to me and I am wondering if I handled it correctly??  We had a guy knock on our door.  When I answered I saw him and a little girl sitting in a stroller.  He excused  himself and asked if we had any formula? I replied no.  Then he asked if we had $5.00 he could borrow until Friday he would pay us back.  I told him I was sorry no cash (which was the truth)  I did offer some milk for the little girl and he turned it down saying she need formula.  After he left I thought to myself if there was something more I could have done.  Should I have offered to take him to the store?  (I had no money on my card)  I looked out and he was at my neighbors house.  Then I texted my other neighbor and they said they gave him $20.00 (so I felt alittle better)  It just makes me very sad that our society is getting like this.  I pray for our country and for those that are out of work.

James Chapter 2:

1-4  How are you doing with favortism??  How do you treat new people that come into your life??

10 interesting insight "For whoever keeps the whole law yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it"  So even if you are living your life good if you stumble with one thing you are breaking all of it...

14-18 interesting how I am reading this after last night.  did I do the correct thing... could I have done more??

24 "You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone."

26"As the body whithout the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead."

How are you doing what you do? Is there enough evidence to prove that you are where you want to be in your walk??
