Well I made it to Friday!! This has truly been an interesting week. Part of me is glad to be back to the routine... The other part would like no routine and more sleep, rest and things around my house done. It is always amazing to me how I could work and do projects around the house and truly never finish all of them.. Now with that let me remind myself that I am so blessed to have a home that needs cleaning and fixing up, a family that requires time and attention, a job that I love, a church that is like family, bills to pay with almost enough money, etc etc etc.
Acts Chapter 12:
1-2 I really don't think I like King Herod... Although I guess a christian girl shouldn't say that. He has already killed James and John and is presecuting others...
3 before I go getting all high and mighty on this one I have to stop and think how many times I look to others for their approval..... OUCH!!
4 I find it interesting how many soldiers and how he put him in jail. and a public trail after Passover... What he wants to be public after he does his thing...
5 when was the last time that we as part of "the church" prayed EARNESTLY for anything??
7 I can't imagine sleeping bound to anyone...more less soldiers... The angel "struck" Peter on the side.... (was he sleeping too soundly?) Quick get up the angel said. I don't know about you but I don't do anything quickly especially after sleep now add sleeping bound to someone how you would have to move ....
8 put on your clothes and sandals. the sandals i can understand taking off but your clothes.... maybe they made all the prisoners take off their clothes before lock up?
9 I can only imagine what Peter was thinking. I too would think it was just a dream or something..
10 okay now what is Peter going to do... the angel just left... Hello I would be so scared and to have the angel just vanish.... what where when... someone please help me figure out what to do!!
11 Now he gets it....
12-15 okay he gets out figures out why then he goes to where he thinks his friends are knocks on the door they know it is him and they don't open the door. this sounds like the story of my life...
16 amazning how they were praying for it but didn't believe it when they saw him...
17 he tells them to be quiet, tells them to tell James and the brothers then leaves....
18 if there was no small commotion does that mean there was a big one?
19 the guards were ordered to be executed.....where they supposed to be sleeping or was it just their luck that the angel appeared on their watch....
20-21 Getting ready for Herrod to give his address
23 "Immediately, because Herod did not give praise to God,and angel of the Lord struck him down, and he was eaten by worms and died" My question to you is how is your "Praise Meter"?
