It always amazes me how doing this study you all make me go deeper. In reading chapter 6 a few things jumped at me but didn't realize Stephen? I know I read it but have been out of it lately and just going thru the motions.... not like our title More than the Motions. I am thankful for the motions when our heart is not open to more, God is showing me that when it comes to Him I always need to have More More More. I am self focused and need to get away from that and see that the God of the universe has so much more for me than just me!!
Chapter 7
Well this chapter to me seems like Stephen retelling the history has he knew it.
48 I loved how he refers to the Most High and that He does not live in houses built by man. This make me ponder the church. He doesn't live there although He is invited in and how we treat Him while He is visiting. He also has to be invited into our lives and everyday activities. How are you doing with that?
54 - 60 when I first read this it made me sad and proud of Stephen. Willing to stand up for what he believed then alittle shame fell on me. How many times do I run when I need to take a stand for what I believe. So many of us run when things are not going our way. Or keep quiet when we are asked about our faith or don't elaborate when we are asked in public. I think of how many times I have been tight lipped to not offened anyone. I think this is the prayer that Beth spoke of the prayer of boldness, that frightens us!! Stephen did try and stop them, he prayed of God to recieve his spirit and prayed for those who were stoning him. AMAZING FAITH!!
